Meet Photography Prop Maker Nicole Ricca of Willow Mint Props
Hey friends! Occasionally I like to feature other prop vendors on my website so you can find other fun places to shop for your favorite newborn and baby photography props.
Today I'm excited to share one of my favorite photography prop shops - Willow Mint Props.
I met Nicole Ricca of Willow Props a year or two ago at a newborn photography workshop. She's delightful! I'll let her tell you all about her business.
What's the name of your prop shop, and how did you come up with that name?
I always loved the name Willow And Mint is my favorite color, so I combined the two!
Tell me about your photography prop shop. When did it start? What products do you sell?
I actually started out selling nursing pads in 2011 and the name of my company is Nicole’s Breast Friends. But as I started rolling into photography photography props, I decided to change the name of the prop side of my business because I would get so many questions. I know sell mostly sewn props in newborn and sitter sizes for both girls and boys. I still do occasionally crochet and knit when I can. I have also found a new love for embroidery.
How did you get started in the photography prop business?
I had an Etsy shop and I was already in the business of selling mommy and baby items. I would get requests for simple crocheted diaper covers and that’s where it all started. Then I started to crochet hats, and then rolled into knitting, and then eventually sewing.
What's your favorite thing about owning a photography prop shops?
My favorite thing about owning a prop business is being able to create. I am a creator at heart, and before doing props, I was a professional artist. So as long as I’m creating and also having the opportunity to be home with my family, I’m happy.
